We are looking for an experienced Data Management Specialist to support the design, development, and deployment of modern cloud-enabled data platforms for enterprise‑scale analytics, BI, and AI initiatives. As part of UNICC’s Data & AI practice, you will work with a multidisciplinary team to build scalable data architectures, develop secure and automated data pipelines, and ensure high‑quality data delivery across hybrid and multi‑cloud environments. This role requires strong data engineering skills, multi‑cloud experience, and expertise in modern data ecosystems including Microsoft Fabric, Azure, AWS, and GCP.
Essential
- Design and implement modern, scalable, cloud-based data pipelines and architectures
- Validate, refine, and deploy data platform components using Azure, Microsoft Fabric, and related cloud services
- Build modular data transformation and orchestration code (DBT, PySpark, SQL)
- Create ETL/ELT pipelines ingesting structured and semi-structured data (APIs, files, databases)
- Integrate data from external systems, SQL repositories, and cloud data services
- Implement and monitor data quality rules and validation frameworks
- Apply best practices for identity management, RBAC, secrets management, and security controls
- Support IaC automation using tools like Terraform
- Automate CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or equivalent tools
- Collaborate with architects, BI engineers, DevOps specialists, and other teams to ensure coherent platform deployment
- Produce documentation, runbooks, training materials, and handover packages
- Support cost optimization strategies and platform monitoring processes
- Ensure alignment with data governance, metadata management, and lineage frameworks (Purview or equivalent)
Desirable
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Data Engineer delivering cloud and on-premises data solutions
- Strong expertise in at least one major cloud (Azure, AWS, or GCP) with working knowledge across others
- Experience with Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse, Logic Apps, or similar cloud-native services
- Proficiency with Python, PySpark, Spark SQL, and SQL-based transformation languages
- Experience designing and implementing Data Lakes, Delta Lakes, and modern storage solutions
- Strong understanding of data architecture, data modeling, and distributed data platforms
- Experience with ETL/ELT pipelines across cloud environments
- Knowledge of BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, SSIS/SSRS/SSAS) is a plus
- Experience with Terraform, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or other DevOps/DataOps tools
- Strong scripting skills (PowerShell, Bash, Python)
- Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and version control best practices
- Understanding of hybrid cloud and on-premises integration patterns
- Exposure to data governance or metadata management tools (Purview or open-source equivalents)
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in distributed, multicultural teams
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and work independently
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, IT, or similar fields
- Relevant certifications such as Azure Data Engineer Associate, DP‑500, AWS Data Analytics Specialty, or GCP Data Engineer (nice to have)
