Speechify is hiring a Software Engineer to own data collection for model training. You will build high‑quality datasets at petabyte scale by integrating infrastructure, engineering, and research work within a distributed team.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in software development, strong scripting in Bash and Python, and experience with Docker, IaC, and GCP. You will collaborate with scientists and leadership to shape the data roadmap for next‑generation products.

Qualifications

• Candidate has BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or related field.
• 5+ years of industry experience in software development.
• Proficiency with bash/Python scripting in Linux.
• Proficiency in Docker and Infrastructure-as-Code concepts and experience with at least one major Cloud Provider (GCP).
• Experience with web crawlers and large-scale data processing workflows is a plus.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsabilités

• Be scrappy to find new sources of audio data and bring it into ingestion pipeline.
• Operate and extend the cloud infrastructure for ingestion pipeline (GCP, Terraform).
• Collaborate with Scientists to improve cost/throughput/quality for larger scale datasets.
• Help craft dataset roadmap with AI Team and Speechify Leadership for future products.
