We are looking for an experienced Junior Data Center Management Specialist to join an international ICT environment and lead projects involving multiple teams and application areas.
Education: Minimum 3 years of relevant education (bachelor or equivalent) after the secondary school.
Minimum Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in building and supporting mission critical infrastructure for critical applications, running in a highly distributed manner.
Working method: Hybrid in Strasbourg, France
- Good knowledge of critical infrastructure and data centre technical building systems.
- Solid technical background in electrical, mechanical, HVAC, energy management, building systems.
- Good understanding of how critical facility systems operate and interact, including electrical distribution, cooling systems, monitoring solutions, and redundancy concepts.
- Proven experience in data center, critical facility, industrial, or similar operational environments.
- Able to independently analyse technical issues, assess risks, and propose appropriate corrective actions.
- Hands-on operational mindset with a strong field presence and willingness to work closely with contractors, maintenance providers, and internal stakeholders.
- Responsive and able of managing operational incidents, technical issues, and service disruptions in a structured and timely manner.
- Able to plan, coordinate, and oversee maintenance activities, inspections, testing programmes, and infrastructure works.
- Comfortable reviewing technical documentation, engineering drawings, procedures, method statements, and technical reports.
- Good understanding of preventive and corrective maintenance processes, safety requirements, and contractor management.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with technical teams, contractors, suppliers, and non-technical stakeholders.
- Capable of working autonomously while contributing positively to a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Reliable, resilient, and solution-oriented, with the ability to perform effectively in a critical operational environment.
- Proactive approach to continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to enhance reliability, efficiency, safety, and operational performance.
- Able to contribute to technical decision-making and provide recommendations based on operational experience and technical expertise.
- Familiarity with data centre standards, best practices, and critical environment operations would be considered a strong asset.
Additional knowledge
- Experience working with some Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) such as Cisco, Brocade, Checkpoint, IBM, EMC, HP, Bull, NetApp, and Dell in implementing Solutions for Networks, Security, Storage, Backup and Compute Infrastructure;
- Knowledge of technologies related to racks, business continuity/disaster recovery;
- Knowledge of capacity planning (power, cooling, rack spacing) practices;
- Knowledge of patching and cabling installations;
- Assist in the design, architecture, implementation, security and support of Data Center environments and solutions;
- Assist with development of future state Data Center systems and designs;
- Perform capacity planning (power, cooling, rack spacing);
- Assist in the implementation of industry best practices for data center engagements;
- Act as an expert for data center projects;
- Execute industry best practices in data center deployments, integration, testing, and packaging of infrastructure documentation and application solutions;
- Maintain awareness of new and emerging technologies and the potential application on service offerings and products provided by IT.
