Mistral AI is seeking a Domain Expert in crashworthiness simulations to help build AI-accelerated capabilities for industrial engineering. You will work at the intersection of industrial simulation, physics modeling, ML, and engineering workflows, bringing deep solid-mechanics expertise into AI Physics Models for real-world use cases.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or equivalent with solid mechanics background.
• 4+ years of relevant industrial experience in automotive, aerospace, or electronics.
• Hands-on experience with explicit dynamics for crash/impact simulations.
• Experience with simulation validation and KPI definition.
• Proficient Python for automation, data processing, and model evaluation.
• Experience with Linux/HPC and batch job management.

Responsabilités

• Define and generate simulation datasets for training crashworthiness foundation models.
• Design high-fidelity simulation campaigns using structural mechanics solvers (Abaqus, LS-DYNA, Ansys Mechanical, Radioss).
• Define variation space for training data (geometry, mesh, material behavior, boundary conditions, loading).
• Build or guide automated pipelines for simulation setup, execution, post-processing, dataset creation, and model evaluation.
• Collaborate with research, product and customer teams to train/evaluate AI models and diagnose data gaps or artifacts.
• Evaluate model outputs against industrial needs including KPI, energy absorption, and failure indicators.
• Work with industrial customers to understand workflows and define use cases.
