Job summary

BlaBlaCar is seeking a confirmed Android Engineer to join the Search squad, focusing on improving the Search experience and building a scalable aggregation platform.

You will collaborate with stakeholders, contribute to architecture decisions and help the team deliver reliable features across BlaBlaCar apps. English fluency required, hybrid work model offered.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Android app development experience with strong engineering culture.
• Proficient in MVVM and clean architecture patterns.
• Experience building with RESTful APIs, Dagger, Retrofit, Kotlin and coroutines.
• Ability to balance fast iterations with high delivery quality.
• Good communication, teamwork and willingness to share knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Design, architect and develop features for BlaBlaCar Android apps.
• Collaborate with non-technical stakeholders to shape production features.
• Ensure app quality and contribute to improving it.
• Improve CI/CD tooling and pipelines.
• Document work, enforce best practices, and communicate changes.
• Conduct code reviews and mentoring within the team.

Your Mission

We are looking for a confirmed Android Engineer to join the Search squad, where you will specifically focus on Search users' experience in our product. Your role will be to contribute to delivering a scalable and reliable Search aggregation platform and to help the team make decisions that will allow it to succeed in its mission by sharing your expertise and knowledge.

Your responsibilities

• Design, architect and develop features for the BlaBlaCar applications
• Collaborate with non-technical stakeholders to help shape the features that lands in production
• Be responsible for the quality of the application, and contribute to improving it
• Improve the tooling and the CI/CD pipeline
• Share your knowledge in the team: provide documentation on your work, enforce good practices and processes, communicate on changes
• Conduct code reviews

Your qualifications

• 3+ years experience building Android apps with a strong engineering culture
• Experience with MVVM architecture and clean architecture
• Experience working on RESTful API, Dagger, Retrofit, Kotlin, Kotlin coroutines, unit and integration tests
• Ability to find the good balance between fast iterations and quality of delivery
• You have good communication skills, and you enjoy sharing & learning from others
• You embrace change, are able to take a step back, and focus on added-value tasks
• You have a results-driven and product-oriented mindset
• Fluency in English
