About the role:

We are looking for an experienced Lead Accountant to join CBRE Investment Accounting & Reporting Solutions (CBRE IA&R) in Paris, as part of the continued expansion of our French team.

CBRE IA&R is a specialist fund accounting and administration business, backed by the full strength of CBRE. Globally, we have more than 1,000 professionals supporting over 150 real estate funds across 19 countries, and our Paris team of around 30 people works with some of the most active institutional real estate investors in the market. The environment is collaborative, inclusive, and genuinely dynamic - and hybrid working (1-2 days remote per week) is available once you're settled in.

What you'll be doing

As Lead Accountant, you will be responsible for the full accounting cycle for a portfolio of real estate holding companies, working alongside a senior team member. Day to day, this means:

• Collecting and reconciling financial data across multiple property assets
• Preparing accounting schedules, files and reports for controller review
• Verifying the accuracy of journal entries and ensuring accounting documents are consistent
• Maintaining and reconciling bank movements
• Managing accounting cut-offs and resolving any discrepancies
• Preparing French VAT returns, tax packages and other statutory filings
• Producing monthly, quarterly and annual reports (budgets, actuals, cash flow forecasts and financial statements)
• Gathering property-level data for quarterly investor reports
• Supporting the audit process and liaising with statutory auditors, legal and tax advisors
• Contributing to ad hoc projects as the business grows

What we're looking for

• A Master's degree in accounting, finance or management control
• At least 4 years' experience in an investment accounting role, with a minimum of 2 years in a Big 4
• Strong knowledge of French accounting standards (PCG) and French tax rules
• Knowledge of IFRS for real estate and OPCI/SICAV regulations is a real advantage, as is prior experience in the real estate sector
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to produce clear, concise reports
• Fluent in French and English

French is the everyday working language of the team, and a high level of written and spoken French is essential - this is non-negotiable. As an international firm serving global clients, a good working level of English is also required, particularly for written reporting. The screening interview will be conducted in English (online), with subsequent interviews in person in French. We are looking for candidates who are genuinely comfortable in both languages, with French as their primary working language.
