A leading transportation solutions provider is seeking a Commodity Senior Buyer specialized in HVAC products for a 12-month fixed-term contract. The successful candidate will manage procurement processes, negotiate with suppliers, and ensure project commitments are met. A Business or Engineering degree and a minimum of three years in purchasing are required, along with fluency in English. Frequent travel is expected as part of the role.

The Senior Buyer reports to the Commodity Manager, ensures the deployment of commodity strategy, tenders and projects execution in line with QCDT objectives and Design For Quality milestones.

He/ She supports global supplier Panel relationship (Supplier workload, negotiation, Specific agreement).

HVAC products for all Rolling Stock Platforms.

The main missions

Involvement in projects and tenders :

• Build Procurement Tender commitment
• Preparation and launch of Request For Quotation with suppliers using the standard tool
• Lead project negotiation for the commodity
• Coordinate project with all Metiers
• Coordinate sourcing activities with local sourcing teams: Contracts application, strategy, saving actions, suppliers performance reviews...
• Monitor sourcing project QCDT & legal project evolution (FAI, Business Award, Product development)
• Ensure work package sheet commitment respect
• Ensure QCD commitments/targets
• Prepare Business Award
• Manage global and specific supplier panel relationship (negotiation, specific agreement, local supplier QCDT performances)
• Monitor day to day suppliers performances and issues before any escalation to line manager
• Respect Alstom Transport code of ethics and guidelines

Commodity support :

• Consolidation of commodity needs, inputs
• Active participation to commodity strategy and panel elaboration on her/his scope
• Lead commodity commitments according to the defined strategy on her/his scope
• Pilot negotiation with panel suppliers during tender phase to ensure best commodity commitment to platform and site teams
• Provide inputs to build differentiation
• Support of Commodity Leader/ Director in tender phase
• Represent the commodities towards projects, platforms and solutions.
• Effective teamwork with internal customers and stakeholders in problem solving
• Apply the Alstom Transport Sourcing process, and provide return on experience.

Profile

Educational requirements

• Business school or Engineering degree with MASTER in purchasing

Technical Knowledge / Experience:

• Fluent English & International background; high level English for negotiation.
• Minimum of three years working experience in purchasing

Behavioural and Technical Skills / Competencies:

• Strong interpersonal skills (leadership, communication, ability to convince)
• Negotiations skills on price and contractual clauses
• Use of excel, sourcing tools and in accordance with Alstom process
• Results oriented within a given timeline

Job Location / Mobility

On Site in Alstom Saint-Ouen Headquarter / High travel frequency.
