A leading engineering consultancy is seeking an Engineer with a strong background in the design and commissioning of electrical systems in buildings. Responsibilities include reviewing design documents, performing commissioning, and preparing project reports. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and has at least 2 years of experience in commissioning services, along with LEED certification. This role requires site visits to various project locations.

  • 2 years of experience in commissioning services.
  • LEED certification AP or eligible for certification required.

Description du poste

A strong background in the design and / or commissioning of electrical systems in buildings including, normal power, emergency power (including generators) for high rise buildings and, lighting systems, battery back-up / UPS, switchgear, and photovoltaics. Experience should include fire alarm systems. And lLow voltage systems experience is a plus. Engineer for this position will be working to provide engineering consulting service for commissioning, design review, field inspection and field testing of building systems. Candidate should have an interest in learning the application of commissioning and inspections related to mechanical and domestic hot water systems as well.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to :

  • Review of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP) design documents such as drawings, specifications (specs), Owner's Project Requirements (OPR), and Basis of Design (BOD) to evaluate energy efficiency.
  • Perform measurement, verification, commissioning, and retro-commissioning.
  • Provide, prepare, and develop Pre-Functional and Functional testing forms in compliance with green building practices.
  • Collect data for energy conservation analyses, using jobsite observation, field inspections, and submetering.
  • Conduct periodic site visits for observation and acceptance of Pre-Functional tests.
  • Inspect and monitor energy-related systems, including heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC), lighting, power distribution, domestic hot water, and pumping to determine energy use and potential energy savings.
  • Witness Functional testing on site to verify the proper installation and programming of new or relocated equipment and systems per green building practices.
  • Prepare project reports and related documentation.
  • Prepare documents such as Current Facility Requirement (CFR) and Operation and Maintenance (O&M) plans, Systems Manuals, Ongoing Commissioning (Cx) plans, Cx summary reports, etc.
  • Conduct Post-Occupancy reviews after project substantial completion.
  • Minimum requires bachelor's degree major in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering - or foreign degree equivalent - plus 2 years of training in mechanical systems, building design, and construction. As an alternative, an equivalent combination of education, experience and / or training is acceptable
  • 2 years of experience in Commissioning services.
  • Requires LEED certification AP or candidates who are eligible to be certified by GBCI.
  • Requires ability to use Bluebeam, Procore, BlueRithm, Building Management Systems, handheld test equipment such as temperature / humidity meters, light meters, etc.
  • Requires 50% of work time to visit various project sites located in south Florida (Palm Beach, Broward, and Miami-Dade counties)
