A global energy solutions company is seeking a Commercial Contract Director to lead commercial operations for its new plant, Advanced Reactor, and Energy Storage product lines. The position requires extensive negotiation of contracts and collaboration with project directors. The ideal candidate should have at least 15 years of experience, a background in engineering or business, and knowledge of the power industry. This role offers hybrid working arrangements with travel to global customer offices.

About The Role

As a Commercial Contract Director you will lead Commercial Operations supporting AP1000 new plant, Advanced Reactor (AP300) and Energy Storage product lines within Energy Systems BU. You will negotiate new contracts, lead commercial development of new plant offers, develop MOUs, teaming agreements and NDAs.

You will report to the Vice President of Commercial Contracts and work with Project Directors to engage with potential partners. Travel to global customer offices and project sites for contract negotiations will be required.

This is a permanent contract position with hybrid remote/in‑office working arrangements. We are open to consider candidates willing to relocate in France, Germany or Spain.

Main Responsibilities
  • Negotiate engineering and procurement contracts for ES/New Nuclear Plant, Advanced Reactor and Energy Storage business segments.
  • Ensure alignment with WEC Legal and other WEC organizations.
  • Participate and lead as a necessary member of the offer team for new plant offers where the opportunity requires the development of contract or commercial agreements.
  • Negotiate all agreements that support execution of the prime agreements.
  • Support associated internal governance review process (LOA).
  • Be the primary commercial interface to partners and develop contracting models and approaches including consortium agreements.
  • Support Supply Chain and other internal teams in the development of flow‑down terms to suppliers for agreements.
  • Evaluate tender commercial requirements and prepare a compliance matrix.
  • Support the Offer Development process to ensure the offer meets all of the contract requirements of WEC using contract compliance matrix tools.
  • Provide critical commercial inputs to the LOA materials including completion of the CRET form.
  • Draft executive management briefing materials for communication of updates/status of negotiations, agreements, etc.
  • Maintain internal, partner and customer relationships through productive communications.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Engineering, Legal, Business or related discipline required.
  • Minimum of 15 years of global commercial and contract development experience in progressively more responsible and varied assignments.
  • Demonstrated experience in new plant EPC contract development and negotiation.
  • Knowledge of the power industry contracts associated with engineering, operation, maintenance, construction, and supply chain.
