Job summary

Saint-Venant Hydraulics Laboratory (LHSV) at ENPC and Institut Polytechnique de Paris invites applications for a Lecturer-Researcher in oceanography or coastal engineering, specializing in coastal risks (erosion and/or flooding). The appointee will conduct research, teach, and supervise students at ENPC or IPP, contributing to the Offwind Master’s program.

The candidate should hold a PhD, have teaching experience, and fluency in English.

Qualifications

• PhD holder in physical oceanography, mechanical oceanography, or applied mathematics.
• Teaching experience in science, engineering, or applied mathematics.
• Fluency in English is essential.
• Strong interpersonal skills with ability to lead and collaborate.
• Autonomy, initiative, and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead teaching for Offwind Master’s program courses at ENPC/IPP and coordinate with program directors.
• Conduct research at the Saint-Venant Hydraulics Laboratory on coastal risks and related topics.
• Supervise students and participate in curriculum development committees.
• Collaborate with academic and industrial partners to advance coastal hydrodynamics modelling.
