The Laboratoire de Météorologie Dynamique (LMD) at CNRS in Paris is seeking a post-doctoral researcher to study how macrophysical and microphysical cloud properties control radiative fluxes and relate to mesoscale convection organization. The project is embedded in MAESTRO ERC and involves collaborations across partners in the field campaign.

Qualifications

• PhD in atmospheric physics with a focus on cloud, radiative and convective processes.
• Experience with conceptual models, convective theories and observations.
• Good knowledge of cloud feedbacks and cloud-climate interactions.
• Strong ability to write scientific articles and present in English.

Responsabilités

• Analyze satellite and in-situ observations of tropical clouds embedded in the mesoscale organisation of tropical convection.
• Conceptualize the link between cloud properties, convective organization and radiation using theory and observations.
• Constrain the radiative impact of convective organisation with physical insight and observations.
