London Stock Exchange Group is seeking a Lead Cloud Database Engineer to design, deploy, and maintain highly available databases in cloud environments. You will act as SPOC for database topics, mentor engineers, and collaborate with IT and security teams to ensure robust and compliant database operations.

The role requires 8+ years in regulated or high-availability DB environments, strong Oracle/MySQL/PostgreSQL expertise, and solid cloud experience across AWS/Azure/GCP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience managing and maintaining database infrastructure in regulated and/or highly available environments.
• Expertise in Oracle Enterprise, MySQL, and PostgreSQL databases.
• Advanced cloud experience (AWS, Azure, Google) for at least 3 years.
• Scripting in Python/Bash and automation with Ansible for at least 3 years.
• Experience with VMware technology is advantageous and Docker/Kubernetes optional.
• Experience operating in regulated environments with security constraints (≥2 years).
• Experience in systems monitoring and capacity management (≥5 years).
• Adherence to risk control frameworks, policies and procedures.

Responsabilités

• Manage a growing team of database engineers.
• Implement and manage cloud-based database systems with secure access.
• Develop and optimize database policies to ensure ANSSI compliance.
• Serve as SPOC for all database-related subjects and coordinate with teams.
• Conduct security audits and vulnerability assessments.
• Design, implement and validate DR, backup and recovery strategies.
• Manage database lifecycle: patching, upgrades, replication, migrations.
• Develop incident response plans for database breaches.
• Collaborate with IT and security teams to align operations.
• Ensure cybersecurity compliance and best practices.
• Mentor team members on database best practices.
• Maintain database services by monitoring availability and latency.
• Lead incident response for database issues.
• Scale database systems through automation.
• Write optimized code for database solutions.
• Build domain knowledge on database workflows and configurations.
