C12 invites a highly motivated intern to join the Chip Design team in Paris. You will contribute across the development process, from design and simulation to experimental measurements and data analysis, working closely with engineers and researchers.
Responsibilities include setting up experiments at millikelvin temperatures, maintaining data pipelines, and translating design insights into practical results that advance the quantum processor project.
Founded in 2020 and based in the heart of Paris, C12’s mission is to be at the center of one of the biggest technological breakthroughs of the century and change the course of history by building a universal quantum computer.
At C12, we believe that achieving a true breakthrough in quantum computing requires rethinking the fundamentals. That’s why our founders—deeply rooted in academic and engineering excellence—have chosen carbon nanotubes as the building blocks of our quantum processors. This ultra-pure material dramatically reduces error rates, boosts performance, and minimizes hardware overhead—key ingredients for scalable, fault‑tolerant quantum computing. By crafting a unique approach that scales, we aim to revolutionize quantum computing just as silicon transformed classical computing.
Since our founding, we’ve raised over €25 million in funding, published 11 scientific papers, and secured 8 patents. Today, our fast‑growing team of 80+, including 25 PhDs, has over 26 nationalities represented. We have our own cutting‑edge lab spaces in Paris' historic Panthéon district, where scientists, engineers, and innovators work side‑by‑side to tackle some of the most exciting technical challenges of our time.
If you're passionate about shaping the future of quantum technology and want to make a real impact, C12 offers a unique environment to grow, learn, and innovate.
The Chip Design Team works at the heart of this development. It provides a safe environment for the quantum processor— the qubit— as well as pathways to interact with qubit. We work in collaboration with other teams, providing them validation methods and data for the same for their experiments in improving qubit quality.
C12 Quantum Electronics is looking for an intern to join the Chip Design team and contribute across the development process, from design and simulation to experimental measurements and data analysis. Working closely with the team, you will investigate how on‑chip component designs translate into measured performance and how these findings support the work of other teams.
The role includes performing experiment‑specific measurements at millikelvin temperatures, with hands‑on involvement in setting up the dilution refrigerator and measurement equipment, and analyzing the resulting data – including maintaining and improving the (python) code for data analysis and visualization. By connecting design work with experimental results, you will gain a practical understanding of how chip design contributes to a quantum compter’s broader development efforts while working collaboratively with engineers and researchers across teams.
C12 encourages all who feel qualified to apply. Recruitment decisions are based solely on qualifications, skills, knowledge and experience.
Applications from women are particularly encouraged and welcomed!
We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses and identifying potential inconsistencies or verification signals in application materials based on available information. These tools assist our recruitment team but do not replace human judgment. Final hiring decisions are ultimately made by humans. If you would like more information about how your data is processed, please contact us.
