Role Overview

We are looking for a Chief of Staff to join our leadership team and work hand‑in‑hand with our Strategy & Operations Lead and CEO. This is a high‑impact, highly transversal role, suited for someone eager to contribute to the growth and structure of a deeptech biotech company.

The role covers strategy, operations, team coordination, finance, and communication, and involves constant interaction with the full breadth of Generare’s teams: R&D, Production, Bioinformatics, and Operations.

This position is ideal for a versatile “doer”, with a scientific background (ideally in biology) and business training, who enjoys alternating between strategic planning and deep operational execution. You will contribute directly to shaping the internal engine of Generare and helping it scale.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic & Special Projects

• Drive structuring of future operations, supporting growth planning, team staffing, and financing roadmaps.
• Manage and contribute to cross‑functional projects, from lab build‑outs to tool deployment and governance structuring.
• Coordinate internal and external stakeholders to ensure efficient execution and alignment.

Finance Operations

• Maintain and update internal budget forecasts, cash planning, and financial reporting tools.
• Track and manage non‑dilutive funding (BPI, Europe, etc.): from reporting and milestone tracking to new applications.
• Contribute to business planning materials (decks, KPIs, scenarios) for internal and external use.

People & Culture

• Support recruitment: job descriptions, candidate coordination, interview prep.
• Co‑build internal processes: onboarding, team rituals, feedback loops, knowledge management.
• Shape and foster a differentiated company culture, aligned with Generare’s values and mission.

Communication & Brand

• Contribute to external visibility (LinkedIn, events, conferences) and internal documentation and messaging.
• Support content creation and coordination for public speaking, podcasts, and internal knowledge sharing.
• Help maintain and evolve our narrative across media kits, pitch decks, and branded materials.

Profile

• 1–3 years of experience in a startup, consulting firm, VC, or high‑velocity innovation‑driven environment.
• A dual background in biology / life sciences and business / management (engineering, biotech school, or equivalent).
• Strong analytical thinking, ability to formalize problems and structure solutions.
• Outstanding organizational skills, rigor, and attention to detail.
• A hands‑on, autonomous mindset, able to move between topics quickly and prioritize effectively.
• Strong communication skills (verbal & written), in French and English.
• Familiarity with startup tools like Notion, Pennylane, Miro, and spreadsheet‑based modelling.
• Bonus: experience building or maintaining internal tools using code or low‑code environments (Cursor, Airtable, Python…).
