Description

Upway is hiring a Central Operations Manager for its European business.

This is a critical role for Upway’s next phase of growth in Europe: from 50k to 1M E-Bikes refurbished per year, from 4 to 10+ UpCenters.

The Central Operations Team’s will own and continuously improve key processes at the core of Upway’s business. Our mission is to help Local Teams scale operations at lightning speed to fuel our growth, while improving cost efficiency and meeting our very high quality standards.

You will oversee a wide range of customer-facing operations - from Logistics to Customer Support - as well as E-Bike Refurbishment.

You will work closely with Local Operations Teams and our Tech & Product Team.

The role is based in Paris or Brussels, and you will travel frequently (5-10 days per month) to our UpCenters in Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands.

  • Own key parts of Upway Operations value chain, including Logistics, Customer Support, Shop Floor Operations, and E-Bike Refurbishment.
  • Unlock growth by making our processes future-proof thanks to a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
  • Ensure we deliver on our very high Quality standards, and analyze customer feedback to keep raising the bar.
  • Make our Operations more and more cost efficient.
  • Build tools that allow our Local Operations teams to operate efficiently thanks to automation and data-driven decision-making.
  • Build dashboards to get an accurate view of our Operations across Europe in real time.
  • Collaborate with our Local Operations and Tech & Product Teams to identify opportunities to improve our Operations.
What you will need
  • Strong academic background in engineering, finance, business or similar
  • 3-6 years of experience in Operations, Finance, Strategy Consulting or equivalent
  • Fluency in English
  • Stellar problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Deeply customer-centric, always striving to enhance the Upway experience
  • Comfort with working in a fast-paced and changing environment
  • Proficiency in SQL
  • Ability to build simple automation tools
  • Readiness to work on-site and travel across Europe. You will be based in Gennevilliers (Grésillons - RER C) or Brussels (Mechelen), and travel to Germany, Belgium/France and the Netherlands every 2 weeks.
