A global shipping company based in Marseille is seeking a Chartering Negotiations Assistant for a 6-month fixed-term contract. THE ROLE

The job is a 6 months fixed-term contract in Marseille

The CMA CGM Group operates a fleet of more than 300 chartered vessels with international shipowners.
You will assist the chartering department in the negotiation, contractual, operational, and financial monitoring of vessel chartering contracts.

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO ?

Within the chartering department, made up of around thirty staff members divided into three teams (Finance, Operations, Negotiations), you will:

  • assist chartering negotiators in defining and formalizing contractual terms,
  • conduct active market monitoring on chartering activities,
  • help ensure smooth information flow between teams by updating internal databases and ensuring the proper interpretation of negotiated terms.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR ?
  • You hold a Master’s degree in Law, Economics or Business, or have experience in the maritime transport sector.
  • You are strongly interested in international trade and able to adapt to a wide variety of counterparts.
  • You have an excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
  • You are persuasive, proactive and comfortable putting forward ideas.
  • You remain composed under pressure and demonstrate a high level of rigor, initiative and tenacity.
