Category Manager Industrial Equipment - W/M

Job Description

As part of the Group Procurement Department, you will lead the Industrial Equipment category across an international, multi-site scope representing approximately €180 million in annual spend, covering both OPEX and CAPEX. Working closely with site buyers, business functions and Corporate departments, you will define and deploy procurement strategies, improve supplier performance and secure contractual arrangements.

As part of a 7-month fixed-term contract, from December 1st, based at Eramet's Paris headquarters, you will contribute to optimizing total cost of ownership, fostering innovation and building sustainable supplier partnerships, in line with the Group's responsible procurement policy.

Responsibilities

• Analyze operational and business needs, map spend, assess supplier markets and develop procurement strategies for each category.


• Coordinate the network of site buyers, lead the deployment of procurement strategies, monitor performance indicators and support local teams in building procurement maturity.


• Define target supplier panels, prepare and lead tenders and consultations, and evaluate bids against Quality, Cost, Delivery, CSR and Innovation criteria.


• Lead negotiations based on a total cost of ownership (TCO) approach, manage best-cost-country sourcing initiatives in close cooperation with Eramet's Sourcing Center in Shanghai, and support sites in formalizing pricing agreements.


• Draft and secure procurement contracts with stakeholders and the Legal Department, negotiate key contractual terms and ensure that contracts are recorded in the relevant tools.


• Manage the performance of strategic suppliers through KPIs, performance reviews and Business Reviews, developing related action plans and contributing to innovation.


• Measure, consolidate and report savings, while ensuring rigorous monitoring of results and action plans.


• Manage procurement risks, compliance, quality, safety and potential disputes, while maintaining smooth communication with technical teams, project managers, Contract Managers, suppliers and internal clients.

Candidate profile

• A Master's degree (Bac+5) in Procurement, Contract Management or an equivalent field.


• At least 5 years of experience in industrial procurement or category management, ideally in an international, multi-site industrial environment.


• Strong experience in developing procurement strategies, leading tenders, sourcing, negotiating and contracting for industrial supplies or equipment.


• Good knowledge of commercial and contractual terms, cost reduction levers and supplier performance management, with a sound understanding of TCO principles.


• Knowledge of quality systems, environmental, health and safety requirements, as well as logistics and Incoterms.


• Strong analytical, synthesis, listening and communication skills, with the ability to support change, engage diverse stakeholders and demonstrate functional leadership.


• Fluent English is essential for working in a multicultural environment with varying levels of procurement maturity. Experience with procurement reporting tools is expected.
