Job summary

SME Careers, a fast-growing AI Data Services company, seeks a Catalan Language Specialist (remote hourly contractor) to review AI-generated Catalan content and create high-quality reference content. You will assess quality, accuracy, grammar, tone, and cultural appropriateness, providing precise feedback and rewrites.

Experience in linguistics or translation, native Catalan, strong English skills, and 3+ years in writing or QA are preferred.

Qualifications

• Native or near-native Catalan proficiency with strong reading and writing skills.
• Strong professional proficiency in English (C1) to follow guidelines and provide feedback in English.
• 3+ years of professional experience in writing, editing, localization, translation, content QA, journalism, education, or related language work.
• Deep understanding of Catalan grammar, spelling conventions, punctuation, and tone; able to explain why something is wrong and how to fix it.
• Comfortable handling multiple registers and regional variation across Catalan-speaking audiences.

Responsibilities

• Develop AI Training Content: Create prompts and gold-standard Catalan answers across domains.
• Optimize AI Performance: Evaluate and rank AI outputs for fluency, tone, and regional appropriateness.
• Ensure Model Integrity: Detect unsafe, biased, or misleading content and validate reliability across use cases.
