Florida Studio Theatre in Florida is seeking a Casting and Hiring Coordinator to work with the Executive Producer and associate artists to cast and hire for Winter and Summer Mainstage seasons, Cabaret, and Stage III. The role oversees the initial hiring for both full- and part-time staff.

Responsibilities include writing audition notices, booking spaces, coordinating auditions locally and in NYC, and managing outreach to major markets.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional theatre experience, preferably regional.
• Ability to manage a fast-paced and urgent casting process while handling multiple projects.
• Ability to give notes or adjustments in line with Director’s vision in auditions.
• Excellent administrative skills required.
• Familiarity with MS Word, Excel, Access and other databases.

Responsabilités

• Set up technology for live virtual auditions.
• Outreach to major US markets for auditions.
• Organize local auditions, EPAs, callbacks, and understudy auditions.
• Serve as contact between actors, agents, theatres and FST.
• Advertise, interview, and hire creative staff (Directors, Choreographers, etc.).
• Manage staff hiring and distribute job ads for approvals.
• Screen applicants, conduct first-round interviews, coordinate further interviews.

Florida Studio Theatre, a dynamic professional LORT-D regional theatre, seeks qualified applicants for the position of Casting and Hiring Coordinator. The Casting and Hiring Coordinator works directly with the Executive Producer and FST’s team of Associate Artists to facilitate casting and creative/designer hiring for Winter Mainstage, Summer Mainstage, Winter Cabaret, Stage III. The Casting and Hiring Coordinator also oversees the initial hiring process for both full and part-time staff.

Job Responsibilities Include

• Casting Coordination for the Winter Mainstage, Winter Cabaret, Stage III and Summer Mainstage Seasons.
• Writing and advertising audition notices per AEA and AGVA standards with an emphasis on creative and diverse casting
• Preparing all audition material and booking of spaces and personnel as needed locally and in NYC
• Preparing all audition material, booking of spaces and personnel, and setting up technology for live virtual auditions
• Outreach to other major markets in the US such as Chicago and LA for auditions via tape
• Organizing and running all aspects of local auditions, including but not limited to: EPAs, show-specific callbacks and understudy auditions
• Serving as the point of contact between actors, agents, other theatres and FST – including audition scheduling and reference checks.
• Advertising, Interviewing and Hiring of Creative Staff – including, but not limited to:
• Directors, Choreographers, Music Directors, Intimacy Coordinators, Fight Directors, and Musicians.
• Staff Hiring
• Writing, editing and distributing job advertisements, ensuring they are approved by both the Department Head and hiring supervisor.
• Sorting through applicants, screening resumes across multiple platforms and holding first-round interviews.
• Scheduling or coordinating further interviews, reference checks and keeping candidates up to date on the hiring process.
• Other duties
• Overseeing the Casting and Hiring Pages on the official FST website.
• Managing of Casting and Hiring Intern and their weekly schedule.
• Casting assistance for FST’s New Play Development department.

Job Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional theatre experience, preferably in the regional setting.
• Ability to manage a fast-paced and often urgent casting process while handling multiple projects at one time.
• Ability to give notes or adjustments in line with Director’s vision in an audition setting.
• Excellent administrative skills a must.
• Competency with Microsoft word, excel, access and other databases
• Talent for building relationships to maintain databases of both local and national actors, designers, and other creatives.
• Familiarity with union guidelines, including LORT, AEA, AGVA, SSDC & USA a plus.
• Experience with standard casting processes, current agent networks and Breakdown Services are all a plus.

Compensation:

$45,000 - $60,000

Anticipated Start Date / Hiring Timeline:
