Job summary

Rijk Zwaan France is seeking a Team Leader Breeding Carrot to lead a multidisciplinary breeding team and drive the carrot breeding program. You will coordinate breeders and assistants, ensuring clear roles, timelines and measurable progress in a fast-paced, international context.

The role requires a strong organizational mindset, strategic thinking and hands-on leadership, with travel abroad as needed to support international projects and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• MSc degree with specialization in genetics and/or plant breeding.
• Proven 10 years’ experience in leading a breeding program.
• At least 3 years of experience managing a research team.
• Fluency in French and English.

Responsibilities

• Lead a breeding team, including breeders and assistants.
• Drive a breeding program to deliver innovative carrot varieties.
• Coordinate breeders and assistants with clear roles, timelines and deliverables.
• Align breeding objectives with crop strategy and market needs.
• Develop breeding programs to meet growers’ needs and manage strategic meetings.
