The company provides technology designed to support healthcare and research organisations in making better use of complex health and research data, enabling institutions to accelerate innovation, collaboration and the development of new solutions.

As the company continues to grow its presence within the European public healthcare and research ecosystem, it is looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to lead the development of strategic relationships with hospitals, research institutions, universities and other public-sector healthcare organisations.

This is an opportunity to join at an exciting stage of growth and play a key role in building a scalable European public-sector commercial strategy.

The Role

As Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for developing and converting relationships with public healthcare and research institutions across France and Europe.

A key focus will be engaging with university hospitals, DRCI/research departments, universities, public research organisations and healthcare agencies, identifying opportunities for collaboration and ultimately structuring and closing long-term agreements.

You will work across complex, multi-stakeholder environments, engaging with research directors, clinicians, professors, innovation teams, IT/data leaders, technology-transfer teams and institutional decision-makers.

This role is ideal for someone who understands how public healthcare and research organisations operate and has a proven ability to navigate long sales cycles, multiple stakeholders and institutional procurement processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a European business development strategy focused on public hospitals, university hospitals, research organisations and academic institutions.
  • Build and manage relationships across DRCI, research, innovation, data, IT, digital transformation and technology-transfer departments.
  • Identify and qualify key decision-makers and influencers, including research directors, professors, clinicians, innovation leads, CIO/CTO functions, data leaders and institutional procurement teams.
  • Develop strategic relationships with CHUs, university hospitals, universities, EPSTs, IHU-type organisations, research institutes and national health agencies.
  • Generate new commercial opportunities through proactive market development, networking, partnerships and institutional engagement.
  • Lead complex sales and partnership processes from initial engagement through to negotiation, contracting and implementation.
  • Negotiate and close long-term agreements covering technology integration, platform adoption, research collaboration and institutional partnerships.
  • Navigate complex public-sector procurement and decision-making structures, ensuring opportunities progress effectively through the relevant stakeholders.
  • Develop strategic partnerships that enable broad deployment of the company's technology across hospital and research networks.
  • Identify and participate in relevant European and French collaborative funding opportunities, including Horizon Europe, France 2030 and other public research initiatives.
  • Represent the company at healthcare, research, AI and life sciences conferences, congresses and institutional events across Europe.
  • Develop a strong network across the European healthcare and research ecosystem and act as a key external ambassador for the business.
  • Work closely with senior leadership, product, scientific and technical teams to translate institutional needs into commercially viable partnerships.
  • Provide market intelligence on the evolving European public healthcare, research and digital health landscape.
  • Help structure and scale the company's public-sector commercial offering with a view to widespread adoption across European institutions.
About You
  • 5+ years of experience in business development, strategic partnerships or commercial roles within healthcare, life sciences, HealthTech, research technology or a related sector.
  • Proven experience selling into or developing partnerships with public healthcare or research organisations.
  • Strong track record working with university hospitals, CHUs, DRCIs, universities, public research institutions, research institutes or government healthcare organisations.
  • Demonstrable experience taking complex opportunities from initial engagement through to negotiation and signed agreement.
  • Existing relationships across the French hospital and research ecosystem would be highly advantageous.
