Generare is seeking a communications-focused professional to shape our narrative and increase visibility among science-driven audiences. You will work closely with founders and researchers to craft stories, write copy, and pitch journalists, turning complex science into compelling content.

You will own campaigns from conception to launch, identifying ideas with impact and delivering them with clarity and creativity across multiple channels.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in communications, PR, marketing or brand building in biotech, techbio or science-driven company.
• Creativity and imagination with ability to craft compelling angles and stories.
• Strategic judgement to identify target audiences and how communications support business.
• Hands-on approach: writing, content creation, pitching stories and launching campaigns.
• Resourcefulness to find practical ways forward when briefs are unclear or budgets tight.
• Excellent English writing and speaking skills with ability to simplify complex ideas.
• Curiosity about science and attention to detail.

Generare unlocks microbial biodiversity to discover new molecules for medicine and agriculture. We combine synthetic biology, computational tools and experimental screening to access chemistry that has remained out of reach.

Your role

Help make Generare a company that people notice, understand and want to work with.

You’ll work closely with our founders and scientists to shape our story and find imaginative ways to bring it to the right audiences. We’re looking for someone who can see the bigger picture, come up with an unexpected idea and work out how to make it happen.

You’ll have real ownership of our communications, from deciding which stories deserve attention to writing the copy, pitching journalists and launching campaigns. There is plenty to build, and we want your ideas to shape it.

What you bring

• Around 3–5 years of experience in communications, PR, marketing or brand building, ideally with experience in biotech, techbio or another science-driven company.

• Creativity and imagination. You find interesting angles, make unexpected connections and develop ideas that give people a reason to pay attention.

• Strategic judgement. You understand who we need to reach, what matters to them and how communications can support our business. You can choose where to focus and explain why.

• A hands-on approach. You enjoy making things yourself: writing, creating content, pitching stories and getting campaigns out into the world.

• Resourcefulness. When the brief is unclear, the budget is tight or something gets stuck, you find a practical way forward.

• Excellent English writing and speaking skills. You have a feel for language and can turn complex ideas into clear, compelling stories.

• Curiosity about science. You ask good questions, learn quickly and care about getting the details right.

• Evidence of initiative. Show us something you spotted, proposed and brought to life. We want to understand your thinking, your contribution and what you learned.

Experience at a creative or PR agency is a plus, as is in-house experience with a growing science company. We care most about the quality of your ideas, your judgement and your ability to deliver.
