Job summary

Sanofi seeks a Senior Biocatalysis Scientist in Vitry-sur-Seine to lead enzyme screening and biocatalytic process development for API-scale synthesis. You will integrate DoE, AI tools, and robotics to accelerate green, scalable routes across global operations.

You will collaborate across chemistry, engineering, and digital teams, sharing data-driven insights and advancing sustainable manufacturing within our Center of Expertise in biocatalysis.

Qualifications

• PhD in chemistry or biocatalysis, biotechnology or related field, or a Master’s with 5+ years of experience.
• 3–6 years of applied biocatalysis experience for small molecule synthesis (APIs, fine chemicals).
• Strong knowledge of enzyme screening, biocatalytic process development and reaction engineering.

Responsibilities

• Define enzyme screening strategies and biocatalytic process development with timelines and budgets.
• Perform reaction engineering, optimize transformations, and develop kinetic models.
• Implement data science solutions (DoE, AI tools), program robotics, and drive digital workflows.
• Plan, supervise, and execute lab experiments and transfer biocatalytic processes to pilot scale.
• Document work, report results to international stakeholders, and support quality/inspection frameworks.
