IFP Energies nouvelles - Lyon is offering a six-month internship in Kinetic modeling of the hydrodeoxygenation of pyrolysis bio-oil. You will build a simple kinetic model for pine wood pyrolysis bio-oil and test a hybrid modeling approach for HVO hydrotreatment, using Python for data analysis and modeling.

The internship may lead to a PhD project. Workplace is IFPEN Lyon, Solaize, with a gross monthly stipend of 1150€ and public transport options.

Qualifications

• Chemical engineering background with programming experience (Python).
• Experience with data analysis and modeling is a plus.
• Ability to implement simple kinetic/hydrotreatment concepts in code.

Responsabilités

• Conduct literature review on bio-oil upgrading and kinetic models for hydrotreated bio-oil.
• Analyze experimental data and compare with published lumped kinetic models.
• Develop a simple lumped kinetic model for bio-oil hydrotreatment and estimate parameters.
• Design a hybrid modeling approach for HVO hydrotreatment and test on synthetic and real data.
• Propose recommendations for future bio-oil experiments and data collection.
