Job Summary:

The Banquet Cook will be responsible for preparing and cooking food for large events and banquets. They will work closely with the Banquet Chef to ensure that all food is prepared to the highest standards and meets the needs of the event. The Banquet Cook will also be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized kitchen, as well as ensuring that all food is stored and handled properly.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and cook food for large events and banquets.
  • Work closely with the Banquet Chef to ensure that all food is prepared to the highest standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen.
  • Ensure that all food is stored and handled properly.
  • Assist with menu planning and development.
  • Ensure that all food is prepared in a timely manner.
  • Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Assist with inventory management and ordering of supplies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Banquet Chef.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Detail-oriented and thorough.
  • Ability to produce an excellent culinary experience for patrons.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with a variety of personalities and under pressure.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of experience as a cook in a banquet or catering environment
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation guidelines
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods standing and preparing and cooking food.
  • Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to work in a kitchen environment that may involve exposure to extreme heat or cold.
