Job summary

Socomec seeks a Production Manager for the Benfeld site to organize and oversee the production of fuse-switch disconnectors and accessories, aligning with the group's industrial policy.

You will drive strategic transformation projects to boost site performance as the plant embraces Industry 5.0, with a focus on digitalization, robotics, and process modernization.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in General Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong mechanical knowledge and French fluency.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the production performance of the Autonomous Production Unit (APU) while meeting safety, quality, and delivery standards.
• Lead a 30–40 person team in line with our values: Responsibility, Openness, and Commitment.
• Coordinate production support activities by a dedicated continuous improvement team (Quality, Methods, Maintenance) for the APU.
• Ensure optimal workload and capacity alignment and adjust to meet customer satisfaction goals.
• Drive and implement a continuous improvement culture in Lean Manufacturing, plant governance, and Industry 5.0.
• Contribute to overall site performance in Safety, Quality, Service, Cost, and Environment.

Job description

Reporting to the Production Manager of the Benfeld industrial site, your role is built around two main objectives :

• Organize and oversee the production of fuse-switch disconnectors and accessories, in line with the industrial policy established by the Group Management.
• Contribute, through strategic transformation projects, to improving site performance in an environment rapidly evolving toward Industry 5.0 (process digitalization, robotics, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Ensure the production performance of the Autonomous Production Unit (APU) while complying with safety, quality, and delivery standards.
• Lead, with the support of team leaders, a team of 30 to 40 employees in line with our values: Responsibility, Openness, and Commitment.
• Coordinate production support activities carried out by a dedicated continuous improvement team (Quality, Methods, Maintenance) assigned to the APU.
• Ensure optimal workload and capacity alignment and propose adjustments in response to unexpected events to achieve customer satisfaction goals.
• Drive and implement a continuous improvement culture within your scope in the areas of Lean Manufacturing, plant governance, and Industry 5.0.
• Contribute to the overall performance improvement of the site in the areas of Safety, Quality, Service, Cost, and Environment.

This position is offered on a fixed-term contract for an initial period of 6 months, renewable.

Qualifications

• Master's degree (Engineering degree or equivalent) in General Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally within a Lean organization.
• Strong mechanical knowledge.
• Fluent French required.
