Airbus Operations SAS is seeking an Automation & Robotics Technical Leader to shape and deploy next-gen robotic solutions across global manufacturing. You will bridge hands-on execution with executive strategy, leading cross-functional teams from concept through industrialization on shop floors.

You will oversee systems architecture, V-model design, prototyping, validation, and handover to production, while driving project governance and stakeholder alignment across sites.

Formación

• 10+ years of leadership experience in aerospace engineering, assembly technologies, robotics, or industrial automation.
• Proven knowledge and application of formal project management methodologies (Airbus PPM, PMI, or equivalent).
• Demonstrated experience in administrative and financial management of research projects.

Job Description: Airbus is seeking an experienced Automation & Robotics Technical Leader to shape, develop, and deploy the next generation of robotic solutions across our global aerospace manufacturing operations based in Toulouse, France. In this role, you will bridge hands-on technical execution with executive program strategy. Leading cross-functional teams through the entire innovation lifecycle-from initial concept and V-model architecture design to shop-floor prototyping, fine-tuning, and full industrialization-you will play a pivotal role in expanding Airbus’s advanced manufacturing portfolio and shaping the future of flight.

Your challenges

• Systems Architecture & Technical Governance Apply the full Systems Engineering Lifecycle (V-model) to define functional requirements, system architectures, interface designs, and FMEA risk analyses for advanced shop-floor robotic systems.
• Direct end-to-end Verification & Validation (V&V) testing to ensure all automated systems meet strict safety, quality, and operational standard performance targets.
• End-to-End Project Steering & Research Drive complex technical and research projects using established project management frameworks (Airbus PPM or PMI), managing financial budgets, administrative tracking, and multi-team scheduling. Lead multiple teams concurrently, delivering robust automation and robotics solutions on time, within budget, and across competing priorities.
• Prototyping, Validation & Industrialization Oversee the fabrication, simulation, and shop-floor integration of cutting-edge robotic prototypes and technology demonstrators. Balance rapid proof-of-concept prototyping with high-quality, production-ready design for handover to live aerospace manufacturing lines.

• Leadership & Domain Expertise: 10+ years of leadership experience in project management within aerospace engineering, assembly technologies, robotics, or industrial automation.
• Project Management Frameworks: Proven knowledge and application of formal project management methodologies (Airbus PPM, PMI, or equivalent).
• Research & Financial Management: Demonstrated experience in the administrative and financial management of research projects, including leading multiple engineering teams concurrently.
• Partner & Stakeholder Collaboration: Proven track record of working effectively with external industrial partners, suppliers, and multi-disciplinary internal teams.
• Prioritization & Execution: Exceptional ability to manage and deliver across multiple, varied, and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Problem-Solving & Mindset: A strong "can-do" attitude that balances quality and speed—transitioning seamlessly from quick proof-of-concept

Soft Skills & Autonomy

Strong communication and team-player capabilities combined with the ability to analyze and solve complex technical problems independently.

Languages

• English: Negotiation level required.
• Secondary Languages: Advanced proficiency in French, Spanish, or German.
