Benford in Paris seeks a leader to build and own the audit practice in France. You will be a qualified auditor who signs opinions and you will shape strategy, clients, delivery and quality, working with engineers to implement AuditOS.

You will run engagements end to end, sign opinions, and set the standard by which future work is measured. This is a hands-on role on-site in Paris, with competitive salary and equity.

Job description

You will lead Benford's audit practice in France, owning strategy, clients, delivery and quality. You are a qualified auditor who signs opinions, and you will build the market from the first engagement onwards.

Why Benford

Audit at the small and mid-market end has been abandoned while fees keep rising. The largest firms are stepping back from exactly the companies that still need a statutory audit every year, and the work that remains is delivered much as it was two decades ago.

Every previous attempt to modernise audit aimed at the auditor's desk and left the firm untouched. We are vertically integrated instead: we hold the licence, we build the platform and we employ the auditor who signs. Our engine, AuditOS, connects to the systems a company runs on, from ERP and subledgers to invoices and banks, and carries the work from one year to the next so the second audit starts where the first finished. Routine work is done by systems. Judgement stays with people.

What you'll own

• The French practice end to end: strategy, clients, delivery and quality.
• The opinion. You scope engagements, rule on exceptions and sign.
• The first engagements in a new market, and the standard everything afterwards is measured against.
• How audit is delivered here, working directly with engineers and shaping the product rather than inheriting a process.
