Toyota Motor Europe seeks a talented engineer to lead assembly production equipment projects from concept to mass production at Valenciennes. You will manage feasibility studies, equipment concepts, procurement, installation and commissioning while ensuring safety, quality, and productivity.

The role requires a Master’s in Engineering with 2–4 years in automotive, fluent English and French, and willingness to work on site in Valenciennes, with occasional weekend work.

Lead automotive manufacturing projects from concept to production. Drive feasibility, equipment delivery, supplier coordination, and start-up in a fast-paced, collaborative, international environment.

Get to know your team and responsibilities

The Vehicle Production ASSEMBLY Engineering function is responsible for new vehicle related equipment introductions. They hold responsibility for the full process cycle, from initial feasibility study by simultaneous engineering, through equipment concepts, specifications, procurement, installation and commissioning activity to final trial confirmation and handover to mass production

Your responsibilities

You will contribute to the realisation of Toyota Motor Europe’s vehicles & mobility projects by delivering the Assembly production lines of the future. Responsibilities encompass a wide range of activities including:

• Project planning and management, mainly development of production equipment specifications, through to implementation and handover
• Production feasibility and layout studies, investment planning and budget management
• Gain consensus of proposals and concepts with fact-based decision making through stakeholder collaboration.
• Specify equipment based on vehicle, plant and production requirements, inline with local regulations, and Toyota Machinery standards
• Equipment sourcing, supplier management, buy off, installation and commissioning, ensuring safety, quality and productivity requirements throughout all phases
• Progress monitoring and reporting to relevant business entities
• Local trial co-ordination, on line production performance evaluation with collection and analysis of data, followed by subsequent reporting thereof.
• Commissioning and problem-solving during trial phases and start of production support
• Develop and improve existing systems, procedures and incorporation of new technology, to enhance overall operational efficiency

Who are we looking for?

Your profile

• You have a Master’s degree in Engineering and have 2 to 4 years of experience within the automotive industry, preferably with a mechanical or electrical engineering background.
• You are fluent in English and French.
• You are willing to work on site in Valenciennes.
• You are willing to work occasionally in shifts or during weekends.
• You can use 2D and 3D CAD software, such as AutoCAD, Catia V5.
• You have the ability to provide effective communication at all levels and across function groups with the ability to work with a minimum of supervision.
• You can demonstrate creative thinking to solve complex issues / problems.
