The Houston Parks and Recreation Department is dedicated to building a sustainable community and enhancing the quality of urban life by providing safe, well‑maintained parks and offering affordable programming for our community. To achieve this mission, HPARD is seeking an Aquatic Center Supervisor (Seasonal) to join its Recreation & Wellness Aquatics team.
The potential candidate will play a role in the following duties:
This position occasionally requires stooping or bending. Moderate to heavy lifting, up to 80 pounds or an equivalent weight may be required. This position may involve routine discomforts from exposure to moderate heat, cold, moisture and unpleasant air conditions. The position may involve routine exposure to soiled materials and light to hazardous chemical substances and cleaning solutions.
Ability to read, write, add, subtract and follow oral and basic written instructions. May have a basic knowledge of grammar, spelling, and punctuation. May require a basic knowledge of a particular subject area.
Requires four months of experience as a lifeguard or water safety instructor.
Must obtain American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification offered by HPARD Aquatic Services Section in the current year of the operating season before completion of the hiring process. Selected applicants who:
