Otis is seeking an Apprentice Mechanic in Échirolles, France, to learn the elevator mechanic trade by working alongside a qualified technician. You will gain hands-on experience with electrical and mechanical systems, site visits, and formal learning to build a solid foundation for your career.

As part of this apprenticeship, you will be exposed to IoT-enabled elevator technology and preventive maintenance tasks on contracted equipment, with mentorship and opportunities to progress within Otis

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old.
• Comfortable using electronic and digital tools.
• Willing to study to become a qualified elevator mechanic.
• Interest in pursuing a career as an elevator mechanic/installer.
• Hardworking, loyal and flexible.

Role Overview

Typical Day

• Work on a daily basis with an experienced tutor, who will support you as you learn the job.
• Familiarize yourself with the basic workings of an elevator through site visits and formal learning
• Learn how electronic and mechanical systems work, connecting components to form complex systems
• Learn digital tools such as IoT and its function in elevators
• Carry out preventive maintenance on contracted equipment: regular visits, checking safety devices.

Qualifications

• You are at least 18 years old.
• You are comfortable using electronic and digital tools
• You are willing to study to become a qualified elevator mechanic
• You have an interest to pursue a career as an elevator mechanic/installer
• You are hardworking, loyal and flexible
• You are a good communicator, excellent team player, optimistic and show initiative
