Job summary

Alignerr is seeking an Application Security Analyst (AI Training) for remote work. You will analyze security scenarios across code, APIs, and systems, classifying vulnerabilities and evaluating remediation strategies.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in security roles, solid OWASP Top 10 knowledge, and strong written communication. Independent, asynchronous work is supported, with potential for ongoing remote engagement.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in application security, product security, or software security roles.
• Solid working knowledge of the OWASP Top 10 and common production vulnerabilities.
• Ability to think like an attacker and communicate findings clearly.
• Strong written communication with a structured security reasoning approach.
• Comfortable working independently and asynchronously.

• Commitment: 10–40 hours/week

What You'll Do

• Analyze real-world application security scenarios spanning code, APIs, and system behavior
• Classify and annotate vulnerabilities including authentication flaws, injection risks, access control issues, and business logic weaknesses
• Evaluate secure coding practices and assess the quality of proposed remediation strategies
• Distinguish genuine exploitability from theoretical or low-risk findings
• Help create and validate security-focused reasoning datasets that teach AI how to assess application risk accurately and responsibly

Who You Are

• 2+ years of experience in application security, product security, or software security roles
• Solid working knowledge of the OWASP Top 10 and common production vulnerabilities
• Ability to think like an attacker — and communicate findings like a trusted advisor
• Strong written communication skills with a structured, methodical approach to security reasoning
• Comfortable working independently and asynchronously in a task-based environment

Nice to Have

• Experience in penetration testing, secure code review, or bug bounty programs
• Familiarity with threat modeling frameworks or vulnerability scoring systems (CVSS, DREAD)
• Background working with web applications, mobile apps, or cloud-native environments
