Descartes Underwriting in Paris is offering an end-of-study internship for an Analytics & Process Engineer. You will work at the intersection of tech and business, collaborating with Data Partners, Reinsurance, Underwriting and Operations to build data monitoring systems and optimize processes.

ABOUT YOUR ROLE

To support our rapid growth, we are looking foR an Analytics & Process Engineer end-of-study intern to join the team of the Chief of Staff to the Chief Scientific Officer.

In this role, you will work at the intersection of tech and business, collaborating with teams across Data Partners, Reinsurance, Underwriting, and Operations. Your main objective would be to support Descartes scaling by building data monitoring systems, optimizing operational processes, and turning data into actionable suggestions. You will own your projects end-to-end from scoping business needs, designing solutions to hands‑on implementation and presenting results.

At the core of our company’s activity, your missions will focus on :

• Data Analysis & Business Intelligence: Build and monitor key business metrics including data governance & quality, partner performance, and budget & expense tracking in order to drive more efficient decision‑making;

• Process Optimization: Map out existing workflows and eliminate unnecessary complexity in processes to focus on what drives real impact;

• Knowledge Architecture: Structure a streamlined knowledge base to provide the team with instant access to essential information;

• AI Integration: Identify and deploy AI solutions, or other tools, to automate workflows and maintain efficiency as the team scales;

• Proactive Problem Solving: Identify process bottlenecks and pitch your own ideas as you gain a better understanding of the business.

ABOUT YOU

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

• Current master’s degree from an Engineering school or University;

• Prior experience or projects in Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, Data Engineering or Data science.

SKILLS

• Fluency in French and English is required;

• Notions in SQL, Python, Excel and BI tools are a plus.
