PROPHESEE in Paris is seeking an AI Technical Lead to shape the perception stack for event-based vision. You will combine hands-on engineering with technical leadership to deliver production-quality C++ and Python components on embedded platforms, in collaboration with the VP Software & AI.

You will mentor engineers, define interfaces, review designs, and ensure performance and latency targets while guiding the team through architecture decisions.

Qualifications

• Strong ability to design modular, maintainable architectures.
• Proficient in Python for algorithms, prototyping, tooling, testing and integration.
• Strong C++ development, performance-sensitive or embedded applications.

As AI Technical Lead, you will combine hands-on engineering and technical leadership to turn advanced sensing and AI algorithms into a coherent, deployable perception stack with direct impact on PROPHESEE products and applications.

Mission

Provide hands-on technical leadership for perception and AI developments, with a strong focus on event-based vision, computer vision, software architecture and system integration. The role bridges algorithms, software, embedded deployment and validation, while guiding a small engineering team and remaining directly involved in implementation.

Role description

• Define and drive software for AI / computer vision components.
• Define detailed interfaces, lead design reviews and make implementation trade-offs.
• Contribute directly to C++ and Python development for algorithms, tooling, integration and validation.
• Guide event-based vision and perception developments, including tracking, detection and related algorithms.
• Mentor engineers, review designs and code, and help prioritize technical activities.
• Ensure solutions are deployable on target platforms and meet performance, latency and resource constraints.
• Work in close collaboration with the VP Software & AI to define the perception architecture stack.

Key deliverables

• Documented perception / detailed software architecture, component boundaries and interface definitions.
• Technical tasks organization and prioritized engineering decisions aligned with the VP Software & AI.
• Production-quality C++ and Python perception components, tools and integration code.
• Validated event-based perception modules with documented accuracy, latency and resource characteristics.
• Deployment-ready software for agreed target platforms, with associated validation and technical documentation.
• Design reviews, code reviews and technical guidance that raise the engineering maturity of the team.

Profile

• Software architecture — strong requirement — Ability to design modular, maintainable and scalable architectures, define interfaces and drive technical trade-offs.
• Python — strong requirement — Good development skills for algorithms, prototyping, tooling, testing and integration.
• Modern C++ — strong requirement — Strong development experience, ideally in performance-sensitive, real-time or embedded applications.
• Computer vision / perception — strong requirement — Experience with event-based vision sensing and processing, computer vision, image processing, perception algorithms or related AI/ML systems.
• Technical leadership — required — Previous experience as Technical Lead or equivalent, including mentoring, technical coordination and design/code review.
• System-level mindset — required — Ability to reason across sensor, algorithms, software, deployment and validation rather than focusing on a single layer.
• Robotics / intelligent systems — strong advantage — Experience with robotics, drones, autonomous systems, automotive, industrial machines or similar sensor-rich systems.
• Embedded systems — desirable — Understanding of embedded Linux, HW/SW interaction, latency, performance and resource constraints.
• NVIDIA Jetson — desirable — Experience with Jetson and ideally CUDA, TensorRT, DeepStream or related NVIDIA technologies.
• DevOps / CI-CD — desirable — Understanding of Git-based workflows, automated testing, quality gates, release management and embedded deployment.
• Sensor integration — desirable — Familiarity with cameras and other sensors, synchronization, calibration, drivers and data acquisition.
