Nebius Academy seeks an AI Science Writer to translate cutting-edge AI/ML research into accurate, engaging stories. You will review models, papers, and research, turning them into written and visual narratives for diverse formats.

The role involves working with researchers and engineers, interviewing leaders, and producing articles, explainers, diagrams, and multimedia content. Ongoing contract with a fixed monthly retainer.

Responsabilités

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an AI Science Writer, Nebius Academy (Contract) based in France.

As an AI Science Writer, you’ll translate cutting-edge AI and machine learning research into accurate, engaging, and accessible stories.

You’ll work at the intersection of scientific research, technical communication, journalism, and multimedia storytelling.

A core part of the role will be reviewing new models, architectures, papers, and research to identify what is genuinely novel and important.

You’ll turn complex technical concepts into compelling written and visual narratives through articles, explainers, diagrams, charts, and other formats.

You’ll engage directly with researchers, engineers, founders, and scientific leaders to investigate ideas and verify technical claims.

The role also offers opportunities to cover major conferences, host research-focused events, and experiment with AI-assisted editorial workflows.

This is an ongoing contract position with a fixed monthly retainer, flexibility, and potential opportunities for longer-term career growth.

Accountabilities

• Produce accurate and engaging scientific and technical reviews covering new AI models, architectures, research papers, internal research, and emerging trends.
• Analyze technical papers and research findings to identify meaningful innovations, understand methodologies, evaluate limitations, and communicate their significance.
• Transform complex model architectures and technical concepts into clear visual narratives, including infographics, diagrams, charts, and other multimedia elements.
• Develop written content across multiple formats, including analytical reports, long-form features, interviews, technical explainers, newsletters, webinar scripts, and social media content.
• Interview researchers, engineers, founders, and scientific leaders to uncover insights and provide context for stories.
• Cover major AI research conferences, emerging fields, significant developments, and important discussions across the AI ecosystem.
• Host or moderate research webinars, interviews, and other on-camera or multimedia formats.
• Work directly with researchers to fact-check and verify technical claims while maintaining a clear, engaging editorial voice.
• Collaborate with designers and multimedia producers on more complex visual and interactive stories.
• Create visual assets independently where appropriate, using AI tools and other relevant technologies to support the production process.
• Experiment with AI models, agents, coding, and automation to improve research, editorial, analysis, and visual-production workflows.
• Contribute to an editorial environment focused on making advanced scientific research accessible without oversimplifying its underlying complexity.

Requirements:

• Professional or academic experience in AI/ML research, machine learning engineering, or a closely related technical discipline.
• A degree in computer science, machine learning, mathematics, physics, engineering, computational science, or another relevant technical field.
• Strong ability to read and interpret scientific papers, inspect model architectures, compare experimental results, and discuss technical details directly with researchers.
• Strong technical writing and editorial skills, with the ability to communicate complex scientific concepts accurately, clearly, and engagingly.
• Strong visual communication instincts and the ability to explain technical mechanisms through diagrams, infographics, charts, and other multimedia formats.
• Ability to assess the significance and limitations of research rather than simply summarize findings.
• Excellent interviewing and communication skills, with confidence engaging researchers, engineers, and technical experts.
• Comfortable working across multiple content formats and adapting technical material for different audiences and channels.
• Familiarity with LLMs and AI-assisted content or research workflows, using these tools to enhance productivity while maintaining personal editorial judgement and authorship.
• Curiosity about emerging developments in AI, machine learning, and scientific research.
• Strong attention to accuracy, fact-checking, and technical detail.
• Ability to work independently, take ownership of projects, and collaborate effectively with researchers, designers, and multimedia professionals.
• Candidates must be authorized to work in the country where they are based.
