Institut Curie recrute un ingénieur/chercheur en IA pour rejoindre le projet AGORA, visant à concevoir des assistants IA pour l’oncologie et l’analyse de données biomédicales. Vous travaillerez au sein du Bioinformatics Core Facility et de l’unité Computation Oncology, dans un environnement interdisciplinaire à Paris.

Le poste implique la conception de plateformes IA, le développement d’API et la surveillance des systèmes, dans un cadre de recherche et d’innovation.

Qualifications

• MSc, diplôme d’ingénieur ou équivalent en informatique, bioinformatique ou domaine connexe.
• Bonne maîtrise de Python et développement d’APIs.
• Expérience SQL/NoSQL et bases de données vectorielles.
• Connaissance de Docker/Singularity et environnements conteneurisés.
• Maîtrise de Linux et bonnes pratiques dev.
• Expérience logiciel production et observabilité.
• Connaissance MLOps, CI/CD et déploiement IA.

Responsabilités

• Concevoir l’architecture de la plateforme IA et standards du projet.
• Développer services IA en production, APIs et infra pour RAG et multi-agent workflows.
• Assurer traçabilité, journalisation et réplicabilité des workflows IA.
• Mettre en place pipelines d’évaluation pour LLM et systèmes IA.
• Définir et suivre les métriques opérationnelles et de performance.
• Contribuer au déploiement GPU et à l’infrastructure d’inférence.
• Travailler avec Data Office et IT pour conformité et sécurité.

Missions

The “Institut Curie” is a major player in the research and fight against cancer. It consists of a hospital and a Research Center of more than 1000 employees with a strong international representativeness.

The objective of the Curie Institute Research Center is to develop basic research and to use the knowledge produced to improve the diagnosis, prognosis, and therapeutics of cancers as part of the continuum between basic research and innovation serving the patient.

Institute Curie is recruiting a Research Engineer) or Scientist in Artificial Intelligence (M/F) to join the AGORA project (AGentic Orchestration for Research and Clinical Applications in Oncology).

The ambition of AGORA is to design and validate one of the first agentic AI platforms fully dedicated to biomedical research and precision oncology. The platform will be capable of exploring complex biological data, integrating the latest medical knowledge, assisting molecular interpretation, and generating novel research hypotheses. To achieve this goal, AGORA combines large language models (LLMs), biomedical knowledge bases, bioinformatics tools, multi-omics datasets, and clinical data into a unified reasoning framework.

The project brings together experts in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data science, specialists in health data integration and governance, researchers in systems biology and mechanistic modelling, as well as oncologists actively involved in precision medicine programmes.

The successful candidate will work at the interface of these different groups and will join the Bioinformatics Core Facility and INSERM U1331 Computational Oncology Unit, a highly interdisciplinary environment comprising approximately 100 researchers working in computational biology, bioinformatics, and artificial intelligence.

Main Responsabilities

The position is central to the project and aims to develop the scientific and technological foundations of a new generation of AI assistants for oncology.

As The Main AI Platform/MLOps Engineer (M/F), You Will

• Design the core AI platform architecture and define standards best practices for the project.
• Develop production-ready AI services, APIs, and infrastructure supporting RAG and multi-agent workflows.
• Ensure reproducibility, lineage tracking, logging, auditing and traceability of AI workflows.
• Implement evaluation and continuous validation pipelines for LLM-based systems.
• Define and monitor operational, performance, quality and reliability metrics.
• Build and maintain observability frameworks for AI systems and LLM applications.
• Implement monitoring pipelines covering inference workloads, latency, availability, cost and user interactions.
• Contribute to deployment and operation of GPU and inference infrastructure.
• Work closely with the Institut Curie Data Office and IT teams to ensure compliance and security.

Candidate Profile

Education

• MSc, Engineering Degree, or equivalent qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Bioinformatics, Data Engineering, or a related field.

Technical Skills

• Strong Python development skills.
• Experience building APIs using FastAPI, Flask, or similar frameworks.
• Experience with SQL, NoSQL, and vector databases.
• Experience with Docker/Singularity and containerized environments.
• Familiarity with Linux systems and software engineering best practices.
• Experience developing and operating production-quality software.
• Experience with monitoring, logging, tracing, and observability tools.
• Knowledge of MLOps practices, CI/CD, and AI deployment workflows.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience operating machine learning or LLM-based systems in production.
• Experience with ML Observability and AI infrastructure.
• Familiarity with OpenTelemetry, or similar tools.
• Experience monitoring model performance, data quality, and drift.
• Experience implementing evaluation frameworks for LLMs, RAG systems, or AI agents.
• Experience with Kubernetes and cloud-native technologies.
• Experience working with biomedical, healthcare, or other regulated data environments.
