Job summary

Alignerr seeks a French Language Expert to help evaluate and improve AI systems for French learners. You will apply linguistic expertise to assess and guide how AI understands and communicates in French, shaping language education technology at scale.

The role is remote with an hourly contract and a minimum commitment of 15 hours per week. Ideal candidates are native or near-native in French, with strong English writing and CEFR knowledge, ready to work asynchronously with the team.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching French or evaluating learner language.
• Familiarity with CEFR levels and learner speech patterns.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate AI-generated French speech and text for accuracy and educational quality.
• Assess learner speech/writing across CEFR levels from Pre-A1 to B2+.
• Identify learner errors, unnatural phrasing, and pedagogical gaps.
• Suggest clear, idiomatic, pedagogically sound improvements for French.
• Provide structured feedback to improve AI tutoring and language models.
• Collaborate asynchronously with project leads and other experts.

We're looking for French language experts to help evaluate and improve AI systems built for French learners and speakers. What You'll Do

• Evaluate AI-generated French speech and text for linguistic accuracy, naturalness, and educational quality
• Assess learner speech and writing across proficiency levels from CEFR Pre-A1 through B2+
• Apply expert judgment to identify learner errors, unnatural phrasing, and pedagogical gaps
• Suggest improvements for clear, idiomatic, and pedagogically sound French
• Provide structured, actionable feedback that improves AI tutoring and language-learning models
• Collaborate asynchronously with project leads and fellow language experts

Who You Are

• Native or near-native fluency in French
• Experience teaching French or evaluating learner language (formal or informal)
• Strong written communication skills in both French and English (C1/C2)
• Solid familiarity with CEFR frameworks and learner speech patterns
• Enrolled in or completed a Bachelor's degree or higher
• Attention to detail and consistency in linguistic judgment
• No prior AI experience required

Nice to Have

• Experience in language assessment, curriculum design, or standardized testing
• Familiarity with AI-powered language tools or educational technology
• Comfort working independently in structured, asynchronous workflows
