Job summary

SPICA, a project within the Inria Startup Studio at Rennes, seeks an Agronomy & Business Development Manager to connect farmers with a smart irrigation solution. You will map value chains, test pricing, and access farm channels.

This role builds partnerships with advisory bodies, research institutions, and government agencies, and shapes market strategy while guiding field trials and product feedback. A Bac+5 in engineering, agronomy, or business with 2 years of experience is expected;

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in engineering, business, agronomy, or related field.
• About 2 years of post-graduate experience in consulting, market analysis, innovation, agronomy, partnerships, or project development.
• Experience with field trials, consulting, or farm operations is a plus.
• Autonomy, resourcefulness, and ability to build relationships.
• Comfort with data and technical matters; ability to discuss solutions with producers.

Responsibilities

• Map out value chain, test pricing assumptions, and identify channels for farmers access.
• Develop networks and prepare funding proposals with stakeholders and agencies.
• Help shape strategic development, market selection, and priorities.
• Bring agronomic insight to product design and maintain user connections.
• Design and conduct field trials on farmer operations and document results.
