A multinational finance company is seeking an experienced Accountant for their Paris office. The role involves reconciliation of payments, monitoring suspense items, and improving processes. Overview

Accountant

Following a significant new portfolio, and software migration, DLL France is looking for an experienced accountant, whose responsibilities may be extended to include supplier accounting and general accounting work.

This is an opportunity to get the heart of the accounting operations of a growing commercial finance and leasing business, and to leverage a range of new tools to automate and simplify processes, in preparation for a change in portfolio management systems in 2-3 years.

Working with the back office in France and our subcontractor in India, you will report to the Accounting Manager, with day-to-day support and supervision from the Project Manager.

Responsibilities
  • Reconciliation of the Payments and receipts on the acquisition portfolio.
  • Daily monitoring of new suspense items for the two portfolio systems. Follow-up of open items with operations and other local functional teams.
  • Drive the project to clear customer suspense accounts currently with significant aged items.
  • Monitor and control of our service provider in India, proposing and tracking performance metrics.
  • Make proposals to improve the transmission of information to our service provider.
  • Provide back-office support for actions requested of our service provider, if necessary.
  • Facilitate meetings with DLL back-office functions to reduce the number of suspense account items, identify and document processes to avoid suspense items arising, and track the business against these.
  • Day-to-day operational supervision and administration of bank accounts.
  • Cheque issuance and cheque remittance.

Essentials: About your skills
  • Experience in a similar position, minimum 5 years.
  • Minimum BTS in Accounting and Management.
  • English written and spoken.
  • Native French language level or C2 / C1.
  • Knowledge of Oracle is essential; credit institutions would be a plus.
  • Good knowledge of Excel.
  • Very well organized due to volume and follow-up by email.
  • Thorough, perceptive, team player; curious.
  • Please note that this role is based in Paris, La Défense.
