The post-doctoral fellow recruited will work as part of the MULTIMOC project funded by ANR ASTRID and as part of the GRAFIC project funded by the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region. The aim is to develop an all-fiber laser source end component, whose special feature will be to integrate both the function of emitting radiation with a controlled multimodal profile, and that of analyzing the emitted wavefront. It's a thinned multi-strand component with a novel structure resembling a multifunctional all-fibre spatial light modulator. In this project, the component is dedicated to free-space optical telecommunications, to reduce the impact of atmospheric turbulence traversed by the link signal.
Strong knowledge of physics/optics (a PhD in these fields is required). Expertise in photonics is a plus.
Knowledge on optical fibers, a taste for precision experimentation, knowledge on imaging concepts, knowledge of Matlab, Python programming languages and commercial software based on the finite element method is a plus, excellent communication skills (written and oral) in English. A very good level of French will be a plus. Particular attention to process, detail and documentation, and the ability to summarise and present your work to your day-to-day colleagues and the scientific community.
