Job summary

HiLIFE, the Helsinki Institute of Life Science at the University of Helsinki, invites applications for three tenure-track assistant/associate professor positions. The appointee will develop an independent, externally funded research program and will contribute to life science infrastructures and higher education.

Applicants should hold a doctoral degree and have postdoctoral experience, with potential for future leadership. The positions start in 2027 and require residence in Finland.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree completed no more than 2–12 years ago (excluding career breaks).
• Postdoctoral experience and early-career track record demonstrated in life-sciences research.
• Evidence of ability to attract external research funding and to develop independent research lines.

Responsibilities

• Develop an independent, externally funded line of research in life sciences.
• Contribute to development of life science research infrastructures and higher education.
• Reside in Finland and start tenure-track at HiLIFE in 2027 or later.
