Job summary

Google is seeking a Technical Program Manager for Data Center/Construction in Finland. You will lead complex, multi-disciplinary construction projects from design through hand-off to operations, coordinating schedules, budgets, and risk.

Strong leadership, vendor management, and international project experience are essential. Fluency in English required; Finnish language skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience in project and construction management.
• Experience with commercial contract management and procurement.
• Experience in electrical and mechanical systems.
• Experience managing construction projects in an international environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage a large construction site and delivery organisation, including scopes related to construction projects or capital improvement projects.
• Ensure development of detailed designs, manage construction delivery, cost, quality and EHS, commissioning, close-out and hand-off to operations.
• Establish and maintain various delivery models and global relationships with multiple vendors.
• Create a growth plan and be involved in hiring/recruiting talent in project management, field engineering, document control, technical writing, etc.
• Research and implement construction means and methods of data center equipment and facilities, and integrate concepts into facilities.

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Construction Engineering, Construction Management, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience in project and construction management.
• Experience with commercial contract management and procurement.
• Experience in electrical and mechanical systems.
• Experience managing construction projects, within an international working environment.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience working with (data center) equipment/environments (including switchgear, generators, chillers, cooling towers, air handling units, controls, security monitoring systems, fire safety systems), with an understanding of start up/commissioning processes.
• Experience managing vendor relationships, with an understanding of standard practices in the design and construction industry.
• Ability to build excellent relationships and deliver on action-orientated tasks.
• Ability to communicate in Finnish fluently.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

• Be responsible for ensuring the development of detailed designs, managing construction (delivery, cost, quality and EHS), commissioning, close-out and hand-off to the operations team. Ensure all customer requirements are being met.
• Establish and maintain various delivery models and global relationships with multiple vendors.
• Create a growth plan and be involved in hiring/recruiting of talent in the areas of project management, field engineering, document control, technical writing, etc.
• Research and implement construction means and methods of data center equipment and facilities. Carry design concepts into mass production and integrate into facilities.
