Job description

Saab Technology Center continues expanding its development unit in Tampere and looking for a Systems Engineer to join our cross-functional product development team working on the state of the art systems in extremely interesting projects on the area of Electronic Warfare.

Your role as a Systems Engineer will play a key role in our product development projects, ensuring that complex systems are successfully defined, designed, integrated, and verified. You act as a technical bridge between different stakeholders — from customers and product managers to development, testing, and production teams, and ultimately back to the customer with a compliant and valuable system.

You will work closely with the Project Manager to manage the technical scope of projects and ensure that systems meet stakeholder requirements throughout the entire product life cycle. To succeed, you need both a holistic view of product development and the ability to dive into details when needed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive the system through its entire life cycle, from early concepts to production and maintenance, ensuring requirements are met and customer value is delivered
  • Define and maintain system architecture and interfaces, and manage technical trade-offs and design decisions
  • Capture, analyze, and manage stakeholder requirements with full traceability across design, integration, and verification
  • Identify and resolve complex dependencies between subsystems, ensuring smooth system integration and compliance with standards and regulations
  • Proactively manage technical risks, changes, and impacts across the product development process
  • Collaborate across the full value chain – primarily with product management, development teams – while involving customers in validation to ensure that product solutions are viable, valuable, and feed back into continuous product improvement
Your Profile:

You have a broad multidisciplinary background, with strong expertise in at least one of the following areas: Software Development, Embedded Systems, System Integration & Verification, or RF technologies.

Ideally, you bring hands-on experience in hardware–software integration, embedded system development, and requirements-based verification, which will help you navigate smoothly in your role.

Required Skills:
  • Master’s degree in Engineering or equivalent
  • Experience in creating and reviewing technical documentation for complex systems
  • Experience in defining and managing system requirements, and decomposing them into product-level specifications
  • Strong communication skills in Finnish and English, both verbal and written

In this job, some of your tasks have a connection to defense secrecy. Therefore, a drug test and approved security clearance in accordance with the Finnish Security Clearance act 726/2014 is required for the selected applicant.

Saab offers you great opportunities for technical and personal growth. Impressive people build absolutely amazing products with the latest technology on sites all over the world. It is largely up to you how you want to experience this!
