Job summary

AMD in Markham, Ontario is seeking a dynamic ROCm Feature Enablement Technical Lead to drive pre-silicon planning, post-silicon bring-up, and feature enablement for Client and dGPU programs. You will define validation plans, coordinate across architecture, firmware, software, and validation teams, and lead issue triage to ensure on-time milestones.

THE ROLE:

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Client/dGPU Systems Design Engineer to join our growing team as a ROCm Feature Enablement Technical Lead. As a key contributor to the success of AMD's product, you will be part of a leading team to drive and improve AMD's abilities to deliver the highest quality, industry-leading technologies to market. THE PERSON:

You are a hands-on technical leader with strong systems engineering, GPU software, validation, and debugging expertise. You can translate product and customer requirements into actionable feature plans, validation strategies, test coverage, dependencies, and measurable exit criteria. You excel at driving technical alignment across hardware and software teams, leading discussions, resolving complex issues, and delivering key program milestones.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Serve as ROCm Feature Enablement Technical Lead for Client and dGPU programs
• Drive pre-silicon planning, post-silicon bring-up, feature enablement, and system validation to ensure on-time program execution
• Define and maintain feature lists, validation plans, test strategies, dependencies, coverage, and exit criteria
• Collaborate closely with architecture, design, firmware, software, diagnostics, and validation teams to drive feature readiness and execution
• Lead issue triage, root-cause analysis, debugging, and fix verification during bring-up, validation, and production phases of SoC programs
• Drive continuous improvements in validation efficiency through automation, tool development, scripting, and process enhancements
• Champion technical innovation and contribute to cross-functional initiatives that strengthen AMD's validation methodology and capabilities

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• Strong knowledge of GPU architecture, system software, validation, and debugging.
• Strong communication, technical leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Hands-on experience with ROCm, Linux GPU drivers, HIP, AI or compute workloads, and GPU software stacks.
• Strong hardware and software debugging skills.
• Experience developing test plans, test cases, scripts, and automation.
• Experience utilizing AI agents and automation technologies to improve productivity and operational efficiency.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
