Job summary

Framery Oy is seeking a Supplier Development Engineer to elevate world-class supplier quality and capabilities. You will bridge suppliers with internal Sourcing, R&D and Production Quality teams, supporting NPI and manufacturing readiness.

The role requires systematic problem-solving, solid technical knowledge of manufacturing, and fluency in Finnish and English. The position is hybrid with travel to supplier sites, primarily in Europe and Asia.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Masters in Engineering (Mechanical, Production, Quality, Industrial) required.
  • Experience with ISO 9001, APQP, PPAP, and FMEA preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and systematic approach required.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct supplier audits and drive root cause analysis.
  • Grant final approvals for supplier processes and materials.
  • Collaborate with Sourcing, R&D and Production Quality teams on NPI projects.

Job description

Supplier Development Engineer Are you ready to ensure the world-class quality of an industry pioneer? We are looking for a Supplier Development Engineer to join our Supply Chain Quality team. Your mission is to develop our global suppliers' capabilities and drive operational excellence to ensure a high-quality, sustainable component supply. You will be a crucial link between suppliers and our internal Sourcing, R&D and Production Quality teams, also playing a role in NPI projects. Responsibilities include conducting supplier audits, driving root cause analysis, and granting final approvals. We are looking for a proactive and systematic problem-solver with experience in supplier quality or manufacturing engineering. You must have deep technical knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality systems. Success in this role comes from a solution-oriented attitude, solid collaboration skills, and the drive to own quality from the supplier's factory to the final customer experience.

What we're looking for:
  • Work experience in supplier quality, supplier development, or manufacturing engineering from a product-oriented company.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field of Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Production, Quality, or Industrial).
  • Knowledge of quality systems and tools, such as ISO 9001, APQP, PPAP, and FMEA.
  • Skills in systematic problem-solving.
  • Solid technical and mechanical aptitude, for example expertise in sheet metal fabrication, precision machining or electrics manufacturing
  • Excellent project management, communication, and influencing skills.
  • Proficient skills in Finnish and in English.

  • Experience in advanced manufacturing industries, such as automotive.
  • Lean Six Sigma (LSS) certification or experience with DMAIC projects.
  • Hands-on experience with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks).

Practicalities:

This is a full-time and permanent position. The start time in the role is as soon as possible. The primary location for the position is our headquarters in Tampere. We work with a hybrid model, but this role requires an active physical presence to collaborate with teams and work with physical products. This position includes travel (up to 33% of your time) to supplier sites, primarily in Europe and Asia.
