Job summary

VTT is a leading applied research organization in Europe, inviting you to join as Portfolio Lead in Microelectronics and Photonics at its Espoo, Finland location. You will lead the portfolio’s strategic roadmap, assess new technologies, and drive strategic development to align with long-term impact goals.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage IP/IPR planning, and help translate science into market-ready opportunities while contributing to VTT’s growth and innovation ecosystem.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in microelectronics, photonics, electrical engineering, physics or another relevant field.
• Strong understanding of research, innovation and technology development environments.
• Experience in developing and managing strategic portfolios, programmes or research initiatives.
• Deep understanding of microelectronics and photonics technologies including chip design and fabrication.

Responsibilities

• Lead the strategic roadmap for Microelectronics and Photonics portfolio.
• Evaluate emerging tech, trends and market developments.
• Ensure portfolio aligns with VTT's strategic objectives and impact targets.
• Oversee IP and IPR planning at a strategic level.
• Develop and utilise research infrastructure to support renewal and impact.
• Collaborate with Business Development and Launchpad to advance commercialization.
• Build stakeholder relationships and communicate portfolio vision internally and externally.
