Job summary

Wärtsilä Energy Storage seeks an experienced Financial Controller to join the newly carved-out Energy Storage business. The role covers legal entity accounting, statutory reporting and liaising with boards and authorities, while ensuring compliance with Wärtsilä directives and local laws.

Ideally based in Vaasa, Finland, with flexibility for Helsinki or Turku; this lean, high-responsibility team will shape the financial backbone of a growing, global renewables business and interact with regional

Qualifications

• Subject matter expertise on Financial Statutory Accounting.
• Wartsila accounting and IFRS knowledge (both international and local).
• Local accounting & tax laws and principles.
• Auditing (both external and internal) knowledge.
• Internal Control knowledge.
• Analysing skills.
• Corporate Governance and Code of Conduct.
• Fluent in English.
• Team working, Relationship building.
• Cooperation with different external and internal stakeholders.
• Cultural sensitivity.

Responsibilities

• Ensure correctness of company financial information and local statutory reporting.
• Prepare and report quarterly financial figures and tax notes.
• Coordinate external and internal auditing and internal control reporting.
• Provide financial analyses and bridge calculations; present to stakeholders.
• Support development and optimization of projects requiring financial competence.
• Advise on statutory, tax and company compliance processes.
• Maintain local DoA documentation and manage authorities’ reporting.
