Job summary

Axelera AI is hiring a Staff AI Application Engineer to join the Model Enablement team. You will design and build the model enablement platform, decide how models run across the AIPU, host CPU and accelerators, and optimize end-to-end performance in the Voyager SDK.

You will work on frontend, graph compiler, runtime and application pipeline with hands-on implementation, collaborating with QA and field teams, using AI coding agents to accelerate development.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of engineering experience in systems, compilers, runtimes or performance.
• Hands-on experience with heterogeneous computing across CPU, GPU, DSP, NPU or FPGA.
• Fundamentals in computer architecture, operating systems and parallel programming.
• Familiarity with ML graph representations and compiler concepts: graph capture (torch.export, FX, ONNX).
• Strong C++ and Python.
• Daily use of AI coding agents on real engineering work.

Responsibilities

• Build the model enablement platform and agent harness: tools to partition, compile, run and profile models across hardware.
• Own model ingestion: capture, analyse and split models across device and host units with clear placement tags.
• Extend heterogeneous execution to large models and multi-model pipelines.
• Ensure end-to-end performance: overlap host/device work, zero-copy buffers, batching and scheduling.
• Study critical models and translate lessons into platform improvements.
