Job summary

NestAI, a European AI lab for defence, is hiring a Model Engineer to join the initiative developing models for battlefield autonomy and orchestration. This senior developer role involves building and evaluating multimodal models and working with simulated data as the project evolves.

You will help stand up evaluation benchmarks, push responsible experimentation, and collaborate with data owners. The preferred location is Finland, with flexibility for nearby EU locations.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience training, fine-tuning, and evaluating ML models
• Experience with multimodal or large-scale model work
• Ability to reason about geospatial/spatial data in models

Responsibilities

• Build and iterate on model prototypes for battlefield autonomy and orchestration
• Work with multimodal and geospatial reasoning problems and benchmarks
• Stand up evaluation harnesses and benchmarks with measurable progress
• Coordinate with data owners on usable data and tooling
• Provide technical judgment and advocate for fast, evidence-based decisions
