Metsä Group is seeking a Solution Designer, Analytics to join its Digital & AI function in Espoo, Finland. In this role you will provide hands‑on support and development for SAP reporting and analytics within your area, and take ownership as Product Owner in the supply chain management process to drive continuous improvement through data and analytics.

• Own the backlog and prioritization for your area, including cross‑BA trade-offs as Product Owner
• Designing and specifying enhancements to SAP reporting and analytics applications, including data models, queries, planning and reporting layers; Supporting and validating implementation work delivered by external vendors
• Managing operative supplier collaboration, including reviewing design proposals, workload estimates, and deliverables
• Conducting quality control to ensure adherence to development guidelines and best practices
• Act as technical escalation point (L3) for complex SAP reporting and analytics issues
• Reviewing improvement suggestions from incidents and root cause analyses
• Creating and maintaining solution documentation in cooperation with business and ICT stakeholders
• Ensuring smooth handover of new solutions to support teams and assisting in related training and knowledge sharing.

SOLUTION DESIGNER, ANALYTICS

to join our Digital & AI function in Espoo, Finland.

What is the job that awaits you?

In this role, you will have two core responsibilities. First, you will provide hands‑on support and development expertise for SAP reporting and analytics solutions within your responsibility area. Second, you will take ownership of ongoing development efforts as a Product Owner (PO) in the supply chain management process area, helping to drive continuous improvement and value creation through data and analytics.

As a Solution Designer, you will play a key role in translating business needs into technical solutions. You will design and validate new functionalities and guide the development work carried out by our external partners. Acting as a central link between business stakeholders and IT, you will help ensure that our solutions are high‑quality, fit‑for‑purpose, and aligned with both architectural standards and business goals.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Own the backlog and prioritization for your area, including cross‑BA trade-offs as Product Owner
• Designing and specifying enhancements to SAP reporting and analytics applications, including data models, queries, planning and reporting layers

What do we expect from you?

We are looking for someone who brings both strong SAP reporting and analytics technical skills and a business‑oriented mindset. You thrive in a collaborative environment, enjoy taking initiative, and are comfortable acting as a bridge between IT and business.

Key skills and competencies:

• Several years of hands‑on SAP BW / BW4HANA experience — data modelling, transformations, queries and performance optimisation in a production enterprise landscape; Experience on recent SAP analytics tools seen as an advantage (BDC, Datasphere etc.)
• Practical SAP Analytics Cloud experience — reporting, live connections to BW/S4, and ideally planning use cases.
• Ability to work independently with business stakeholders : run requirement definitions, challenge requests, and make design decisions
• Experience steering external development partners — reviewing designs, validating workload estimates and effort, and ensuring quality
• Judgment on where logic belongs across source, data platform and reporting layer
• Experience in AI-assisted development tools seen as an advantage
• Experience working in agile or continuous development environments, preferably with Product Owner responsibilities
• Strong communication and coordination skills, especially when working with vendors and stakeholders.
